What is Inkjet Printing?
|
|
Advertising is all about appearance, impression and general public appeal. This being the case, what is the best way of presenting your advertisements? Inkjet printing, is the best choice when advertising through printed media.
Inkjet printing is a non-impact method of printing similar to laser printing. Inkjet printing is an integrated system that consists of an image, the printer itself, the ink installed and the media where the image is to be transferred to. There are 3 basic inkjet printing technologies. There is what is called a continuous flow printer, used best for graphic art and industrial applications, this kind of printer has multiple dedicated print heads that are connected to a huge supply of ink. This complex ink system requires high maintenance and is not ideal for home use. Also, electric inkjet printers and thermal or bubble jet printers. Thermal printers use heat to fire ink onto paper. Inkjet printers have been improving much over the years.
Modern inkjets are able to print colors in black and white. Thanks to the advancement of ink quality the color black comes out as black and not grayish or bluish as it did appear before.
Although laser printers are cheaper to maintain, inkjet printers produce better quality output.
There are certain things that you have to consider when preparing to print. First, your source must be edited and optimized to ensure that it looks perfect when printed. Your media must complement or even better, enhance, the ink's presentation of your image.
Unlike laser printers, inkjet printers have traditionally had one advantage over laser printers. Inkjet printers have the ability to produce color.
This is what makes it more popular for personal or home use. Inkjet printers have cartridges that contain basic ink colors and the combination of the different ink colors produce a huge spectrum of other more diverse colors.
These colors are squirted onto the page to form an image. Colors are not printed individually but the whole image is printed on strip by strip Instead, red first, then blue etc. The print head scans the page horizontally while moving it left to right and back while another part of the printer moves the paper vertically as the image is printed on. The printhead prints vertical rows of pixels every time the paper is moved.
Because of this inkjet printing has retained its advantage in producing photographic-quality output. Photographic quality output is very important for advertising. Details are very important when considering what you want to advertise. The information you include, the images you place and the general appearance of your ad will not make as big an impact if your ad is of poor printed quality. Nobody wants to read a faded or miscolored advertisement.
The quality produced by inkjet printing is incomparable to laser printing. Inkjet printing produces more photo-quality prints than laser printing. The quality of your print should is one of the biggest factors to be considered when advertising something. Your product should look the way it is supposed to look, or should even look better on print. The tiniest detail in printing can make the biggest difference in sales.
